Colette Arnold – Contemporary
Miss Colette has a BPSA, Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts majoring in a Contemporary Dance. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Education (Dance and Drama). Miss Colette has been dancing since the age of 4.
Growing up in Auckland she sat BAL and NZAMD syllabi in Jazz and Ballet, receiving a distinction scholarship for advanced jazz. She discovered Contemporary Dance at 16 years and danced with Pointy Dog Youth Company. From there she went on the to study Contemporary Dance at UNITEC. After graduating Colette co-founded Backlit Productions, an Auckland-based Contemporary Dance Company. She has choreographed and performed full-length works with the company throughout New Zealand. Colette has also performed as a freelancer for Music videos, Dance Documentaries, Music Awards, and Festivals. Colette has over 20 years experience in teaching Contemporary Technique.
Working for studios, youth companies, preschools and in high schools. Miss Colette worked alongside AJDA (American Jazz Dance Association) in creating the Contemporary Dance syllabi that we teach here at DFX. Miss Colette also examines for AJDA.
Miss Colette is PCT, Progressive Contemporary Technique Certified. She is committed to safe practice and the teaching of contemporary dance fundamentals.
