The Jason Winters Contemporary Technique

Our contemporary classes started an exciting new syllabus in 2017 developed by Jason Winters. The Jason Winters Contemporary Technique syllabus is new to New Zealand. Its technique and structure is designed in the most classical and academic way and infused with choreographic electricity used in today’s most commercial settings. DFX is always looking for new opportunities for our dancers and see this as a way of providing a dynamic, modern and exciting program to teachers and students alike.

All students will start at the Foundation level then progress through to the next level each year. Dancers can start the syllabus from 10 years old.

Enrolments are taken at the start of the new year with exams in August or September and all classes perform at the end of year show in November.

We also have an open (non-exam) Contemporary class for dancers aged 9-10yrs to give them a taste of what this interesting genre is all about. Enrolement throughout the year subject to space in the class.
